The network ports that need to be forwarded in your router to the PC running Flight Simulator or FSHost are:

FS2004 and FSX:
UDP 23456 (or the "2004 host port" on FSHost's Server / Options / Session tab)

UDP 6073
UDP 2302 to 2400

Multiplayer Basics:


1.
Don't start your flight on a runway.

2. Turn your engine sound down

3. State your intentions when arriving overhead any airfield, before entering an active circuit.

 ZS Flyers Flight Planning


To enter a flight plan in FSHost the following format is to be used:

Open your chat window in MS Flight Simulator after you have logged on to the FSHost server.

Abbreviations +fp (establishes flight plan mode for FS Host)
IFR (Instrument Flight Rules)
VFR (Visual Flight Rules)
FL (Flight Level - under 10000ft FL080 - over 10000 ft, FL120)
STEP TO (Step climb during flight to FLXXX)

i.e.enter the following into the FSHost text box:-

+fp IFR FACT - FAGG FL050 STEP TO FL070 B200

Decode:  Instrument flight rules, Cape Town to George at Flight level 050 initially, step climb to flight level 070 as aircraft weight permits. Flying the Beech King Air B200.

i.e. +fp VFR FACT - FAGG FL055 B1900D

Decode:  Visual flight rules, Cape Town to George,at flight level 055 (VFR requirement to be at 500ft above/below 1000's) Flying the Beech 1900D

Hit "Enter" on your key board - Your flight plan will then be filed.

At the end of the flight enter -fp and your flight plan will be cancelled.

Using TeamSpeak


When signing into Team Speak please ensure your Nick Name: reads as the following:  your ZS user name and your first name.

i.e. ZS-BOB - Bob

This is done to ensure uniformity within the system and easier recognition on TeamSpeak.


  TeamSpeak 3 must be installed on your computer to use the TeamSpeak server.

Using the FSHOST Server:


FS2004:

1.In FS: Go to Flights – Multiplayer - Connect

2.Player Name: Your Callsign and Name

3.Client Settings:
You MUST forward ports to your sim machine!

2234 - DP
23432-23460 - FS9
6073 - DP
2300-2400 - FSX

4.Join

5.When connected, press “Enter” for Chat Window

6. Submit your flight plan for your flight.


FSX:


1.Download FSHost Client at www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/ and install.

2.FSHost Client: Player Name: Your Callsign and Name.

3.IP Address: see Teamspeaak [right hand window] - Connect Port No. 23456.

4.Start FSX and minimize

5.Start FSHost Client and minimize

6.FSX has an “Add-ons” window on the top menu.

7.Click on Add-ons, Chat Window, etc.

8. Submit your flight plan.
